I didn't think the comment about the relative costs of tech1 vs tech2 was either arrogant nor pretentious.
The truth of the matter is that I can buy 2 HACS for the price of one Battleship. That gives me a different perspective than those who have the situation reversed.
It costs me less to lose a HAC than to lose a BS, and so I am more willing to fly them in to combat.
Also, you can only lose what you fly, and I don't see many Goon HAC fleets tbh.
Actually Avon, according to your statistics you've only flown a HAC into combat 4 times, you much prefer T2 BCs, BSs and AFs. It could be me reading the numbers wrong, perhaps you could ask DB Preacher to help me interpret the statistics?

When he said he can buy 2 hacs for the price of 1 battleship - I looked up his stats just out of curiosity to see how many he'd got through. He's only ever used a deimos 4 times and a Battleship 34 times - so if these stats are true why is he saying he's more willing to fly his Deimos into combat than his Megathron when he clearly doesn't.
(I do believe him on the price though, he probably just sells his HACs)
Maybe he meant Elite BC - that'd make more sense (think he gets confused and has trouble expressing himself sometimes)

Only going on what people say dude. In a text based medium it's impossible to tell when people are talking theoretically, as a result I just take people literally.

Yep, I've reread the post and I'm clear now.
Avon is more willing to fly HACs than any other ship into combat - but wait! - he defies his gut instincts and preferences and hops into a battleship instead - even though he could buy 2 HACs for that 1 battleship, this is his way of making combat more interesting and expensive for himself - it's all about the Eve Risk Vs Reward you see?
Glad we've clarified this guys, man I feel dumb about that.
Consider this ol' newb sorted and back onto the path of the straight and true
